1. Introduction to Graphic Design

• Understanding what graphic design is and where it is used.
• Exploring design elements: Shapes, Colors, Lines, Forms, and Textures.
• Getting started with Canva and building a personal portfolio.

2. Colors and Shapes

• Introduction to color theory (primary, secondary colors, emotions behind colors).
• Understanding shape personalities and their impact in design.
• Creating color- and shape-based compositions.

3. Typography Basics

• Understanding fonts and their different personalities.
• Creating a poster using text and images.
• Experimenting with different fonts to express moods and messages.

4. Design Principles

• Alignment, Contrast, Repetition: Arranging text and images for clarity.
• Balance, Emphasis, Movement: Creating visually appealing layouts.
• Proportion, White Space, Hierarchy: Organizing elements to guide the viewer’s eye.

5. Composition & Layout

• Arranging text, images, and elements to tell a story.
• Designing a birthday card, invitation, or menu layout.

6. Design Projects & Challenges

• Theme-based creative challenges (nature, space, cartoons, etc.).
• Recreating movie posters, event flyers, and storytelling illustrations.
• Group projects to encourage collaborative design thinking.

7. Final Project & Showcase

• Students create their own digital design project using all concepts learned.
• Show and Tell: Presentation of projects to peers and parents.
• Earning the "Design Star" Certificate!
